Somber update...

Sun. 4-18

Hello to everyone,

We are sending out a somber update on Gary’s and Sue’s present health situations. Please update our Ponca family and friends; so everyone can receive the news throughout the coming week.

The daily evaluation from the central Iowa Hospice team was completed this morning and Gary’s condition is now considered 'grim'. The opinion from the team is that we should plan for his death within the next 3 – 5 days. His immediate family is near him and he is in complete comfort.

Sue has developed an intestinal blockage, a twisted small intestine. Her discomfort began late on Sat. and then led us early on Sunday to bring her to the hospital. What a test from God ..! We are doing everything possible to bring her home ASAP. She has been admitted into the Newton, Ia. Hospital ... we hope to have her home within the next 48 hours.

Please watch for another update coming later his week.

Kindest regards,

Kris – Barb & Hans

  1. Dear Kris, Barb, Hans and family~
My thoughts and prayers are with you all today. Praying that your mom will make a quick recovery and be able to be back home soon. Praying for strength and grace for all of you. Praying for peace and comfort for your dad and for God's love to surround and uphold you. May you be able to support one another and be aware of those ties that bind you together. Get out some old family photos if you can . . . eat ice cream ... OK, I don't know what else to say. Just know friends are thinking of you and lifting you up in prayer.
    Love, Sue (and Al, too)

Bill and I wanted you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. We pray that God's love surrounds and comforts you through this difficult time. We think of all of you often. Hopefully you know how much you mean to us and that even though the distance between us is now farther, you are always close in our hearts.

May God bless each of you.
